I miss you all so much! It sounds like you all are doing so good. Josh, congrats on your win in the tournament! I'm so proud of you.
I have so much to tell you all!! This week has been the most amazing week EVER!! This past weekend Elder Nash from the seventy came on a mission tour. We met with him on Tuesday and he spoke to us about some things that we could improve on as a mission. It was so great! On Wednesday we met with him as the Missionary Leadership Council. So all the Zone Leaders and Sister Training Leaders got to meet with him. Before this meeting on Wednesday I was reading the Book of Mormon for my studies. I had been reading the Book of Mormon since the beginning of my mission and just barely finished it. I knelt down to pray after finishing it. I didn't have any amazing experience but I prayed to know if it was true. Well at this meeting with Elder Nash the spirit was so strong. To close the meeting he bore his testimony about the Book of Mormon. As he was testifying, the spirit was so strong and bore witness to me that it is true. It was the most powerful experience. I know that God heard my prayer and I am grateful that Elder Nash listened to the spirit. I know that if we have a desire to know if the Book of Mormon is true that God will answer our prayers. I will never forget this experience. Words cannot adequately describe the feelings I had.
Also, this past week we taught our investigator Marcie. She is so amazing! We taught her about the Plan of Salvation. As we started this lesson she said that she had lost her sister when they were younger. She was an alcoholic. When we got to the spirit world she asked what would happen to her sister since she wasn't baptized. We told her that some day she would have the same opportunity to accept the gospel. I looked at Marcie and told her that her sister could be learning about the gospel in the spirit world just as you are now. Right as I said that I felt a chill go from the top of my head through the rest of my body all the way to my feet. IT WAS SO AMAZING!!!! I've never felt anything like that before. Right after I felt this I looked at her and asked her if she felt that. With tears streaming down her face she looked at me and nodded her head. She is on date to be baptized December 26th!!
Okay now on to the funny things that happened this week! So we have this investigator named Sarah. I think I told you about her a little bit last week. Her husband speaks spanish and they had been taught by the spanish elders. Yesterday it was fast and testimony meeting. In the middle of the meeting Sarah looked at me and asked if she could go share her testimony. I said of course! So she got up there and told everyone she knows the church is true! SOLID!!! Her testimony seriously was so good. The funny part is that during her testimony she said, "I've been a non-smoker for five days." Any other congregation would've been like ummm...alright that's nothing. But I swear everyone in crossroads is trying to quit smoking so when she said that the whole congregation was like "AMEN!" and "YOU GO GIRL." There were a few claps throughout the congregation as well. I feel like I'm in a Pentecostal church. Sarah also participated in class and got up to hug some lady after she bore her testimony. Sarah is crazy but we love her.
Papa Lane also bore his testimony yesterday. Quote from Papa Lane, "The Elders and Sisters are 24-24 all about God." Don't know what that means but thanks Papa Lane haha. He also had a few "AMEN" and "Praise Jesus" from the congregation as he was speaking.
I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY!!! Love you all!!!
Love,
Sister Smith
