Hi everyone!
I can't believe Jake is graduating!!! AHHHH so weird!!!! Sounds like everyone is doing good! Josh I can't believe you're going to be a sophomore...crazy! I hope everyone is doing well. Your lives all sound so busy. That's good though, that means you're staying busy so you don't miss me :)
This past week has been such an adventure! So we had transfers last week and I got a new companion Sister Lowry. She is the best! We get along so good and have so much fun together. She is the complete opposite of Sister Perry haha it's really funny. When she got here she said that this area is so different from her last area. She said in her last area she'd never tracted and here we tract basically all the time. Its been fun for us to have those tracting experiences together. So many crazy people! Sister Lowry comes from a divorced family and none of her family is active. She wasn't active either until she was 17 years old. Her mom is an alcoholic and she has had a rough life. She told me her mom was drunk the night before she left and doesn't remember it. She is such an example to me.
Miracle time! So the day of transfers, that night, Sister Lowry and I decided to go out tracting. We got kicked out by a lady yelling at us and so we decided to leave. As we were driving we saw two teenage boys and the spirit told us to stop. We got out and went to talk to them. One of the kids left but the other stayed, his name is Steven. He stood in the rain while we taught him the restoration. At the end of the lesson we invited him to be baptized and he said yes. We asked him if June 13th would work and he agreed that it would! Hahaha isn't that crazy!! Well we met up with him again this week. While we were there his brother, Roni, came out and his girlfriend. We taught them all while sitting on a driveway. At the end we asked Roni to get baptized and he said yes! He said that he wanted to be mormon just so he could teach people haha. He is so funny! We also met their sister and she is so sweet. They all said they thought mormons were weird till they met us. They said they think we're chill and now they think mormons are cool hahaha. Love it. Well they told us that they all want to go to church and they said they would bring their friends. So basically we are saving a whole middle row for them. God loves us and all his children! They are such an amazing family and are ready for this gospel.
Another miracle is we went tracting and met a woman named Denise. We met her Saturday night and she invited us in. She just cried to us and told us how she is divorced and both her kids want nothing to do with her. We taught a little and then she invited us to go hiking with her. So on memorial day we went with her to a waterfall and to hike to an arch. I bet you all didn't think Indiana had anything like that, cause I didn't! It was really fun and we built a good relationship with her. She doesn't think that God is real because he isn't talking to her. She agreed to let us teach her so hopefully we can help her to hear God speaking to her. She does think that we are an answer to her prayers so that's a start :)
There have been so many other miracles! It's so amazing to see Gods hand in our lives. I know that God loves all his children and he is preparing people in Indiana. I love you all and miss you lots! Keep expecting miracles!
Love,
Sister Smith
