hello everyone!!
I'm glad to hear you all had a good Easter! Ours was so good :) We had an Easter brunch at the Relief Society presidents apartment. It was so good! Best breakfast I've had in a LONG TIME haha. Later that night after church the senior missionaries, Elder and Sister Strong, fed us dinner. It was amazing! She carved the pineapple into a bunny, she put the vegetables in a way to look like a flower and so many other things! It was decorated all cute :)
This past week we have had so many miracles. We were on campus and only had a little bit of time to PC. We were walking and we stopped a man named Daniel to talk. Right away he asked him to teach him about what we believe and what makes us different. He was so interested! He told us he used to be catholic but went away from that because he feels it isn't right. We are meeting with him this week so hopefully it all goes well!
We also had another miracle on campus. We stopped this girl named Nita. We asked her if she knew/had heard anything about our church. She said yes! She said that her roommate had been talking to her about it. We asked her her roommates name and she said Tiana. Tiana is the elders investigator! Crazy right! She told us that Tiana had been teaching her about the Book of Mormon. It was great. Hopefully we will be able to meet with her this week as well. PRAY FOR US!!!
We haven't been able to meet with Helen Pu but hopefully we will be able to this week as well. Marcus is still doing good. He is struggling with some things that we didn't know about. This week we went with him to the Addiction Recovery Program meeting. It was amazing!! I think everyone should experience one of those meetings. The spirit was so strong! Everyone there is so humble and going there because they want to be better. I basically cried through the whole thing. Marcus even spoke at it! I was so proud of him. We hope this will help him progress towards baptism.
This Saturday was the best! We got up early and drove to Smokey's baptism!!!! It was such an amazing experience! I was able to see everyone from my old area! There were lots of hugs and tears at that baptism. His family all came too and it was so good to see them again. I asked Smokey how he felt after he was baptized and he said, "RELIEVED."
After his baptism we went to the temple! Andy, our recent convert came, and also our friend Lauren. She had been inactive in her life for awhile and this was the first time she'd done baptisms in 10 years. I cried all through the temple. Also, Sister Tanner is going home tomorrow so I said goodbye to her in the temple. That was rough. The Anderson's after the temple took us out for lunch! It was such a good day :) I always love seeing them.
LOVED Womens Broadcast! My favorite quote was from Sister Marriott. She said, "Live truth fearlessly." Do it!
Okay real quick funny story: We were at the institute with the elders and there were cupcakes there. I picked one up to smell it and the one elder came over and shoved the cupcake in my face. It went all over me! I was so mad! I stormed out and tried to go outside to cool off before I would start crying. He felt so bad haha. He apologized so many times. I think he thought it was funny till he saw me cry. No worries though. Now it is funny and it's all good. Gotta love the elders. They never think before they act.
Okay sorry this email is so long but I love you all! Have a good week!
Love,
Sister Smith
