Hello Everyone!!!
This week was such a good week! First off I can't believe my birthday was this week. It feels like forever ago! Thank you for all the love and support! So the night before my birthday all the missionaries in my zone heart attacked my door. It was so sweet! On my birthday we went out to lunch at Chili's with all the missionaries in my zone. We are all so close I love it!! Then later that night we went to a members home, the Lagas, and she made me a snickers cheesecake with homemade caramel on it. It was heaven! She and her husband are so sweet! The next day, Wednesday night, the Garners in our ward threw me a surprise birthday party. So don't worry mom everyone made sure that I had a good birthday. :) Thank you for the birthday gifts! I loved them!
So this week we have been tracting a ton! Ya know just the usual. We talked to so many people this week it was amazing! Sister Perry and I decided that we wanted to make sure that each door approach we followed the spirit and that it wasn't the same thing over and over again. Well Friday night we were out tracting this neighborhood. It was a no soliciting neighborhood but we firgured we would tract it till we got kicked out. Okay well that was more my plan than Sister Perry's hehe. We knocked on a door and a man named Dan Dawson opened it up. We talked to him and introduced ourselves. All of a sudden I started talking about the Plan of Salvation. Usually we don't start teaching that unless we feel we need to but for some reason that's what came out of my mouth. Well after explaining what we believe he opened up and told us why he left the catholic church. He said that his 3 year old son died when he was younger. The nun told him that his child was going to hell because he didn't get baptized. He said that really hurt him so when we explained to him that that is not what we believe he really felt the spirit. I have never felt the spirit so strong on a door step. I know that I was prompted by the spirit to teach the Plan of Salvation. That is what he needed to hear. So pray that he keeps wanting to meet with us because this is what he needs!!!
Also, these past few days Sister Perry has been sick. She's been throwing up and slept for like 24 hours straight. I thought it would be nice for me to catch up on some sleep as well. That was not the case. I got so stir crazy!!! Being in our ghetto apartment for too long can really make you go insane. So while Sister Perry was getting better I cleaned the apartment, painted my nails, studied, and watched church videos. I did this over and over again. I'm pretty sure I can quote all of Legacy now. So it feels so good to be out of the apartment today!!! Yay I'm free!!
Well folks that was the gist of my week. Jake and Josh you both look so cute all dressed up!! Jake you make a fine looking Zeus. Love you all!!!
Love,
Sister Smith
