Hello family!!!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!! I miss you all so much especially around this holiday season. It just brings back so many good memories but I'm excited to experience thanksgiving on the mission! Because the ward that I'm in currently is basically all on welfare we don't have a whole lot of options for thanksgiving. Luckily we will be going to the senior missionaries home(the Anderson's) for the day. It's so amazing how when people feed us in the ward they are literally giving us all they have. It is always such a humbling experience.
This week has been a whole bunch of crazy. We went on exchanges this week and had zone conference. I feel like we are always somewhere else!
We had so many miracles this past week!
Miracle number one: We got a text from a bishop in this area saying that he had a woman who wanted to talk to us. We gave her a call and asked her how we could help her. She said that her name is Tammy and that she had been investigating the church a few years ago and said that she wanted to meet with us. When we met with her she told us the reason she couldn't get baptized before is because she was on probation. She is now ready to be baptized! We set a date for her and so her goal is to be baptized on Dec 26th. She is so excited! When we told her that she said it would be the best Christmas gift! She also came to church this past week and was taking notes the whole time. SOLID.
Miracle number two: The other day we had been tracting for a few hours and had no success. It was cold and just was not the best experience. There was a mail man who is a preacher at a different church who was yelling at us. This is how our conversation went: First he asked us if we were Jehovah witnesses. We told him no but that we were mormons! He just shook his head haha. Then he said,"Your church isn't even in the bible!!" Haha love this stuff. I responded by saying,"That's debatable." Probably should've held my tongue; that's something I'm working on. He just responded and said,"NNOOOOO!!! NOOOO IT'S NOT!!!!" Bahahaha we just walked away. I love stuff like this so much.
Okay that was a tangent here is the miracle. After those hours of tracting with no success we got a call from elders in another area. They said that the guy they were teaching has a girlfriend who had been to church a few times and wants to be baptized. AND she is in our area!!! Wahoo!! So we taught her this past week and she just cried through the lesson. She is so ready. We are meeting with her this week and will hopefully be able to set a date for her to be baptized.
I LOVE being a missionary. I am so thankful for the experiences I have had so far that have helped me to not only become a better missionary, but also just a better daughter of God. I'm thankful that I can be serving here in Indiana. They're so crazy here but I love them so much! I fit in really good here haha. I'm thankful for God's hand in my life and the tender mercies I see from him everyday. I know he is watching over me. I'm thankful for all of you and your support. Love you all so much! Have an amazing thanksgiving!
