It sounds like you are all doing great!! Mom, I REALLY like your hair. I think you look really good. Dad, sounds like you're busy as ever! That's so fun that you got to go to the BYU game with Nikki. I'm so glad she likes BYU-Idahoi! My heart is there.
Okay so this past week we taught our new investigator Bethany. She is married and has three little kids. A family!! So she told us that she had been watching the TV show "Big Love." It's about Mormons and polygamists. But she said that she had some questions about the Mormons and two days after watching it she said that we knocked on her door! WHHAAA?! Apparently I was working with the spirit and I didn't even know it haha. She said that everytime she had a question from the tv show she got on mormon.org and would research her question. Solid. We taught her the restoration and it went so well. She started crying! She said she was emotional because she just had her baby but we all know that was the spirit haha. We were able to answer most of her questions and we will be meeting with her tomorrowagain. We asked her to say the prayer before we left and as she was praying she started to cry again. The spirit is real people!! God is good!!!! She is so amazing and is exactly what we've been looking for. Her husband is not as open but she told us they have been looking for a church that is family oriented so they could teach their kids. Praise the Lord!!!!
This past week we also taught Smokey! We taught him about baptisim and the gospel of Jesus Christ. At the end of the lesson we invited him to be baptized again. He said no because he had already been baptized and didn't see the need. Ugh. I thought we taught it simply but aparently not. He said it would be a few YEARS before he was baptized. Challenge accepted. We'll see about that.
Nanette we still haven't heard from. We are still teaching the 9 year old named Zach. I feel like everything is starting to pick up right as I'm about to leave.
This past week we also got bashed again. I'm getting really good at holding my tongue. We just stood there for fifteen minutes straight, in silence, while a man ripped us apart and told us how wrong we were. At the end I just bore my testimony and then offered to help him with some service. Every day I have an opportunity to show that I am truly a representative of Jesus Christ. I am grateful for the things I am learning here.
Funny Story: Okay this isn't too funny but I found a hair in my salad the other day at a members home. First a bug now a hair. I'm serving a foreign mission.
Love you all!!
Love,
Sister Smith
