Family!!!
I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY!!! I LOVE THE MTC!!!!! I LOVE MY HEAVENLY FATHER AND SAVIOR!!! I have never been more happy in my life. I love being in the MTC. This place is so amazing. I feel the spirit constantly and my Savior's love. I've learned so much in the little time that I've been here that I feel like I've been here for months. It's amazing how the spirit can guide you and increase your knowledge. We've done a lot of practice teaching here and I feel that each time I do it I get better and better. It's cool to see how we plan a lesson for an investigator but as you teach them, the spirit directs you and sometimes we don't use our plan at all. I love the Holy Ghost! Our teachers pretend to be investigators and that's who we teach. You might think it's weird but it's so amazing. Even though they're pretending, Heavenly Father wants you to see that he still is there to help you in any circumstance. I've never felt more connected with my Heavenly Father and my Savior. I testify of them every second of the day and each time I do I feel their love. I can't wait to share this with those in Indiana.
Okay so now a little bit about my experience. I'm sick of the food here and it's not even been a week. It makes me feel so gross and I'm farting** all the time. So are my companions though so it's okay hahaha. My favorite sister is Sister Stucki. She is my companion along with Sister Larrabee. Sister Stucki and I will be best friends forever. She's opened up to me about the struggles she's been through and it just makes me love her even more. We laugh ALL the time together. I've gotten in trouble quite a bit here because of my laugh. Everyone is always telling me to laugh quieter. I'm like why don't you cough quieter or sneeze quieter. It's just something that happens but whatever, I just keep laughing.
It's so fun here and spiritual. Also, my teachers are all very attractive. This has made it a bit difficult but I'm having faith that I can refrain from flirting. Sometimes I'm nice and it comes off as flirting so I'm hoping that won't happen. My teachers are amazing though. I've learned so many things. One thing I learned is to teach the people not lessons. They've taught us to really rely on the spirit and alter the lesson to meet the persons needs. It's so AMAZING!! I love the gospel so much. I know that I'm here for a reason and I know that through Christ I can become the kind of missionary he wants me to be.
I love you all. Everyday something will happen and I'll want to tell you. There's so much, I feel like I can't tell you everything. I hope everyone is doing well. Thanks for the email dad. Seriously that's what we talk about everyday is how one person can influence so many, but it's because of the Holy Ghost. How are you? How is the family? Is everyone still depressed that I've left? If so, don't be. It's so AMAZING!!! AHHHHH!!! I'M JUST SO HAPPY!! Jake, are you still preparing to turn in your papers? Please email me I want to hear what's going on. Jake and Josh. Missions are amazing. I've only been here for a little while and I already love it. Not going is a MAJOR mistake. I don't know why more people don't go on missions. Okay well this is a really long email but I don't have a lot of time so I'm going to have to go. I love you I love you I love you. God loves you. He knows you personally and by name. Talk to you next week!
Love,
Sister Smith
Oh and P.S. I'm a SISTER TRAINING LEADER!!! So I'll be helping new girls who come next week. I love it and I'm so excited! I love serving the Lord and His missionaries!!!
Love you all!
**This is Jill, Adrianne's mom. I asked her if I could replace "fart" with something, like "passing gas" or maybe "toot" or something else...
This was her reply:
"I would appreciate it if you kept FART. That's what it is Mom."
