Hello!!
You're in Indiana?!?! What?! Oh my gosh! That is so weird that you are literally an hour and a half away from me!!! Whaa! I'm jealous you're going to see the final four. All the missionaries here are freaking out about it. I hope you have fun! You'll have to tell me all about it. So I miss you all a ton! It sounds like you had a good Easter. Easter here was so good! On Saturday we spent conference at a members home and they set up an Easter egg hunt for us haha. It was really fun. Sunday we went to the church for the first session and then to a members house for the second session. The spirit was so strong. My companion and I started crying after one session because we both got our answers to our questions. I know that President Monson is a TRUE prophet. I know that he speaks the word of God. I know that everyone who spoke at conference was inspired by God. It seriously was so AMAZING! My favorite talk was President Uchtdorf. Here there are a lot of people who don't understand grace and when we are trying to explain it to them they don't always understand. Earlier this week our investigator Corey dropped us because of this concern. President Uchtdorf explained it so simply. I can't wait to share this with others!
Okay so the rest of the week was really crazy. For reals though. On April Fools day Sister Perry and I had to go to Fishers for a new missionary training, so we were gone all day. Well...when we got home we went into our apartment and we noticed something was off. All the Elders in our zone went into our apartment and switched our furniture with the other sisters furniture who live above us. They also took off our doors, stole our food, and put cups of who knows what in our freezer. Nasty right?! They turned off our hot water too. It was crazy! After we figured all of this out we noticed a weird smell in our apartment. We opened the cupboards under our sink and I almost threw up. It was disgusting! There were rotten potatoes under there that had been there probably for over six months. AHHHHH!!!! I've never smelled something so awful. The Elders didn't do this but we happened to find it the same night. I couldn't clean it up so Sister Perry got in there and sprayed it and wiped it down. It. was. awful. And I wasn't even cleaning it! I prayed that night and thanked Heavenly Father for Sister Perry because if I didn't have her I don't know what I would've done.
Okay so we decided that we wanted to get the Elders back for doing this to us. While the Elders in our ward were at Priesthood we went into their apartment (they always leave it unlocked, rookies) and pranked them back. What's funny is the family we were with all day Saturday, the Garner's, Sister Garner wanted to come with us and help us. The Garner's are like my second family. They're so amazing! So Sister Garner packed up her three little kids in the car and we went to the Elders apartment. I will not disclose with you what we did but we definitely got them back :)
So to say the least this week was crazy, fun, and exhausting. We have had some ups and downs but overall I love it. Ben is still progressing. He canceled on us a few times last week but we managed to meet with him. We have another investigator Peggy who is amazing! She is really old and smokes but she wants to get baptized so hopefully she will!
Mom thank you for my Easter package! I love it! My companion and I had fun with it. Also, Aunt Jen thank you for your package as well! I have felt so much love this past week. Sarah Hoban, thank you for your letter! It was so sweet and made my day. Thank you for all the support and prayers. It really helps me and my investigators!
Missionary work is the best! Indiana is definitely a hard mission but when you work hard you see miracles. I love you all and miss you tons! Sorry it's so long but there was so much! Have fun at the Final Four!
Love,
Sister Smith
