Hello!
Dad! I'm so happy to hear you went out with the missionaries! That's the best. You may not think you had any success but you never know. Two of the people that I taught in Westfield just got baptized. The seed was planted and after I left that was when they were ready. It's all in God's timing.
I'm glad you all had a good New Years! Looks like it was a party! I have to say I partied pretty hard too. For new years eve we had to be in early. Well we got done with everything we needed and I went to bed early! It was the best New Years Eve. I guess you could say I'm a party animal haha.
For New Years day we went to the Anderson's! It was so nice. We just relaxed and watched mormon movies. We played some games with them as well. You need to watch FREETOWN! We watched it and it's about missionaries serving in Africa. It's intense. You would love it.
This week was pretty much a normal missionary week. Nothing too exciting. I went on exchanges this week with Sister Williams in Carmel. I always love being back in my old areas.
We are still teaching and working with Marcie. It's still up in the air about when she can get baptized but President Cleveland is working on it.
We taught a part member family yesterday and it went so good! This family they have two girls one is named Jenna and the other is Morgan. Jenna is 13 and Morgan is 10. The dad is a member but has been inactive for most of his life. He just barely started coming back to church because he wants a better family and he knows that mormons know the value of family. We taught the two girls and they both said they want to be baptized!! They are on date for Feb 13th. They are so sweet. The dad even cried in the lesson and you would never guess. He's covered in tattoos and has piercings. It was a very spiritual lesson.
We also taught a woman named Constance yesterday. She told us that she thinks Jesus is black and that she thinks our religion is only for white people(even though our whole congregation is basically black.) We shared with her a scripture in the Book of Mormon. It's 2 Nephi 26:33. It says, "and he denieth none that come unto him, black and white, bond and free, male and female,...and all are alike unto God." After we read that to her she just sat there and said, "okay, that answered my question." It was awesome! The scriptures answer questions of the soul.
I love you all! This church is true. Continue to share it with others. It can change lives.
Love,
Sister Smith
