Hi family!!!
It sounds like you're all having a blast!! Kels, I'm so jealous that you're in Disneyland!! That's only like the happiest place on earth!!!! Josh I still can't believe you're driving. I feel like that's going to be weird to see when I come home haha. Jake, still living the dream in Hawaii.
This week has been good! It's been pretty dead in missionary work though because of finals. No one wants to talk to us and then if we do talk to them they are going home for the summer so we can't meet with them till the fall :( It's been pretty depressing because we've met some really amazing people!!!
I was able to go visit a less active I worked with when I was in my first area. Her name is Sarah Brown. We just decided to show up at her house one night. She was so excited to see me! We talked with her for a little bit and learned that she's had a really hard time lately. She told us that earlier that day she had been praying and just feeling down and depressed. She started crying and said that we couldn't have showed up at a more perfect time. I love her so much. It was such an amazing experience to see how we blessed someone's life because we listened to the spirit. I told her that we would continue to visit her. Hopefully we can get her going back to church again and feeling the spirit.
This past week Sister Packer and I wrote a song!!! So there is an elder in our mission who freestyles and that's like what he wants to do as a career. He's really good. So Sister Packer and I wrote a song on the ukulele and then he freestyles for part of it. It's called the "Lonely Pizza Song." This is what we did on P-day because I can't play sports. Fun fact: On Monday while we were playing volleyball I hit myself in the face with the volleyball. I think I'm going to stay away from that sport from now on haha.
We had MLC (Missionary Leadership Council) yesterday. It was so amazing!!! I always love the trainings that are given there. We did a breakout session where the sisters were together and the elders were together. Everyone of the sisters went around and talked about a scripture that had given them strength beyond their own. The scripture I shared was Doctrine and Covenants 84:88. It's the best! It talks about angels around us who help to bear us up. I know that I have seen this so many times on my mission.
I love you all and miss you lots!! Can't wait to Skype you all tomorrow!!!!
Love,
Sister Smith
