Hello everyone!!!
I'm glad to hear everyone is really busy! Dad, I'm so sorry you're sick :( I hope you get feeling better. Kels...I'm so glad I'm not in nursing school haha! I'm so proud of you and how hard you're working.
This past week was a whole bunch of crazy. As you know we had interviews but then we went on exchanges Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday. And for some reason I was always the one who went to the other sisters area. So I slept in my bed only 3 times last week. I was exhausted by the end of the week haha. I love exchanges though it's so exciting!
This past Sunday I gave a talk in church. My first one on the mission! Can you believe it?! That was fun. Also, Doug got the Priesthood on Sunday!!!! AHHHH!!! Sister Tanner and I were crying all through sacrament meeting. We have been working with him since I've been here and it's finally happening. Because he got the Priesthood he'll be going to the temple on January 30th!! We now have a total of five people we'll be bringing to the temple on that day. That is what makes missionary work so rewarding.
Dama had her interview this past week and will be getting baptized on Saturday!!! AAAHHH!!! I'm so excited!!!! She's been working so hard for this. We also had a birthday party for her on Saturday. She made us dinner and then we ate lots of cake and watched a mormon movie. She said she hasn't celebrated her birthday for a long time so she loved it! We had a lot of fun. She's crazy.
This past week we also started teaching a man named Norm. Norm is the father of a member in our ward, Mercedes. She just barely started coming back to church and we've been working with her. We taught her dad Norm and he said he wanted to be baptized. He will be baptized on February 13th! He is so ready. When he came to stay with Mercedes he quit smoking, drinking, and all of the above haha. He told us today that he stayed up till two this morning studying the Book of Mormon and the pamphlet we gave him. Solid.
I really hope I get to stay here so that I can see all those I've taught be baptized but I have a feeling that's not going to be the case :( it's okay though because I know that this is all God's work. This church is Christ's church and it changes peoples lives. I love this gospel!!!!
Love you all and miss you lots xoxo
Love,
Sister Smith
