I miss you all so much! I'm so glad that you had an awesome conference weekend. I cannot get over how amazing it was! I'm so jealous that Dad and Josh got to go to the Saturday morning session. I loved President Uchtdorf's talk in that session.
Mom I thought about you the whole time Elder Holland was speaking. Wasn't that just an amazing talk. Thank you for your example and for being a mother who was always by my side. I know that without you I would not be where I'm at today. I love you :) "You are doing better than you think you are!" -Elder Holland
This week has been full of ups and downs. To start off we got a new investigator this past week and we went to meet with them a few days later. Right when we got there I could tell that her husband just wanted to argue. We decided to teach them anyway. Most of what we taught them they agreed with. They are really into the Bible and know it really well. By the time we got to Joseph Smith he was full out arguing. Sometimes when you back someone up to the wall of faith they lash back. He had no valid argument but he just kept yelling at us. He said that we were calling Christ a liar and called us some other things. I was so done. So I was bold and told him we didn't appreciate the way he was speaking to us and then I bore my testimony. When people make me angry and say things about Joseph Smith my blood boils. So when I bore my testimony I could feel the spirit speaking through me and I like to say I had passion not anger. Okay so I have to admit I've gotten to know the Bible really well while I've been in Indiana. So although he knew the Bible I was able to teach him about some things in the Bible he didn't know about. :) I was pretty proud of myself.
On the miracle side we met with Smokey this last week and our lesson went so good! The spirit was so strong and the member we brought was perfect. She is a convert to the church and so when she bore her testimony it really hit home to Smokey. We have tried to get Smokey to pray in the past but so far he hasn't. Well, after the lesson we invited him to pray and he agreed. He was a little nervous so I offered a simple prayer to show him how to pray. After, he prayed and it was so sincere. His prayer was on point I guess you could say. He is progressing so well :)
We also taught our new investigator Zachary. He is the grandson of a woman in our ward. He is so sweet and said he wanted to be baptized because it is a second chance. He is 9 years old and he asked the most amazing questions. I love teaching children. It's harder because you have to be more simple but they are so humble that it makes the spirit so strong in the lessons. I also did a demo to explain prophets and all the kids loved it. They each wanted to take a turn so that was fun.
We also had interviews this past week. I LOVE President Cleveland!! He is so funny and we always have so much fun together. We just laughed through my whole interview haha. It was the best. He is so inspired. I know I was called at this time to be serving with him.
I love you all!! Hope you have an awesome next week! xoxo
