Hello everyone!!!!
I'm so glad to hear that Jake and Dad's birthdays were good! I'm sad I couldn't be there but I'm sure you all partied hard without me haha.
This week has been bitter sweet :( On Tuesday we had President Cleveland's farewell. I basically just cried the whole time haha. After the meeting I was in the chapel and he came and hugged me. I just started bawling. We cried and he told me that he would see me in Provo. So I was able to compose myself enough for the picture. I'm so grateful for President Cleveland. He has taught me so much and I feel that we have become close friends. I'm definitely going to miss him.
Sister Gray is doing well. She is struggling with the heat and humidity. She's been such a good sport tracting with a broken foot in the scorching heat. I LOVE tracting so I've been dragging her around haha.
We had a miracle happen the other day! Sister Gray and I decided to go tracting. We prayed where to go and we both felt we should go to this one neighborhood. The first house we knocked on a boy answered and we introduced ourselves. He told us that his step dad is Mormon! He went and got him and we were able to talk to the whole family. The dad is the only one who is a member and he's not active. We set up an appointment and we're going to be teaching the whole family! It was a miracle.
We are continuing to teach the Lopez and Flores families. There are a few things that we are having to workout but hopefully next week we'll have a lot of news to tell you about them! I was reading in the scriptures in Helaman chapter 10 and it talks about how Nephi prayed that there would be a famine so that the people would turn to God. And a famine hit and a lot of people were humbled and turned to God. As I was reading this I thought maybe we can pray for something like that to happen to the families we're teaching! Just a thought...Nephi had enough faith so I'm strengthening my faith to see a miracle like this :)
Also, fun fact: Everyone I meet always says I look familiar. This happened multiple times this week. I think I just have that face. But it helps with missionary work. I just go along with it and tell them they DO know me haha.
Not a lot of super exciting things have happened this week but it's a miracle that I made it to the end of the week haha. I love you all and miss you!!
Love,
Sister Smith
