Hello!!
I'm so glad to hear you're all having a blast in D.C.!!!! I'm jealous too but I'll get over it. You all look so cute and grown up! It's crazy how you've changed in just the 4 months I've been gone. Keep updating me on all your adventures.
This past week has been filled with one crazy experience after another. We had zone meeting this past week which was very spiritual and uplifting. One thing that really stuck out to me was that they said the Book of Mormon should become who you are. That it's important to read it but most importantly is to apply what it teaches by reading it every day. That's the reason our investigators progress is because they are reading from it every day.
We were tracting this last week and had a man chew us out about Joseph Smith. I kept trying to be polite and walk away but he just kept talking and wouldn't let us go. Finally I just was like forget it and just walked away as he was still trying to talk hahaha. It was priceless. Rookies.
That same day we found a pond with a gazebo on it so we decided to go check it out. We were dripping sweat and needed a break. The humidity here is killing me. I look like a hobo every day. We were on the gazebo and two swans and their babies came up to us. We thought it was cute at first but then they started hissing and getting mad. Sister Lowry decided to make a run for it and went running up the hill. Well the swan got out of the pond and chased after her hahahaha!! She took her bag and tried swinging at it to get it away but it kept attacking her. She kept yelling at me to help her but I couldn't stop laughing hahaha! Seriously I'm laughing now just thinking about it, it was so funny. Don't worry we both got away safely.
On Saturday we had Steven's baptism. It was so amazing and so spiritual. None of his family came which was disappointing but we were there to support him. It's been so cool to see the gospel change him. He's usually a shy guy but he's come out of his shell so much. Before the baptism though Steven's mom was dropping him off so we decided to run outside and try and get her to come in. As we were running Sister Lowry tripped off the sidewalk and rolled her foot. We didn't think anything of it but she kept saying how much it hurt and couldn't walk on it. Well after Steven's baptism we went to the Urgent Care and they got it x-rayed. It's fractured :( So she's now on crutches. Needless to say it was a very eventful day.
My life is crazy and I love it!!! Hope all is well! Have fun in D.C.!!!
Love,
Sister Smith
