HI!!!!
So I got transferred and am now serving on Purdue campus!!!! I'm back to the city where I started my mission so I've been able to see a lot of my old friends and members from the old ward I served in. It's been the best! I do miss Indiana University though. I loved serving there. It was really hard to say goodbye to everyone. I cried a lot haha.
This week has been crazy because we got double transferred in or white washed. This is the 4th time this has happened to me haha. Luckily the sisters left good notes so we've been trying to figure things out. I'm serving with Sister Packer. She is so sweet! I was the first sister missionary she met on the mission when I was serving in Westfield so I've known her for awhile.
When we first got here they had a BBQ so we got to know a lot of the ward. They all have been so sweet to us. I also contacted the Garners, my favorite family in Lafayette, and they fed us dinner the other day! It was so fun to see all their kids grown up.
Missionary work on Purdue has been a bit of a struggle lately. It's finals next week so everyone is stressed and doesn't want to talk to us or meet with us. We have been able to meet a lot of great people but not a whole lot of new investigators. Everyone is going home for the summer. Don't worry we will find people!!! We've had a lot of crazy things happen though already. We got growled at by a human, bible bashed, and had our personal bubble space eliminated as we were teaching a man about Jesus. Good times haha.
This past week we got to go to a fraternity and visit a less active. He lives 40 minutes away but it was worth it. His name is Andrew and he's been through a lot. He just broke up with his girlfriend of 4 years so he's been really depressed. We shared with him Alma 43 and how he needs to read his scriptures and pray so he can have the armor of God to withstand temptation. It went really well. The funny thing is it's an all guys school so while we'd be talking all his friends would come up and want to meet us. A lot of them were shy but we probably met like 20 of his frat brothers. It's cool because they all know we're Mormon missionaries. One guy even said he has the Book of Mormon!
Funny story: Last night we came home and there were sticky notes everywhere in our apartment and all the lights weren't working. We go into the bathroom and my white towel has red all over it. The elders pranked us and put Kool-Aid all in the shower and in my lufa. They were trying to dye us red! luckily we caught it so only our hands were dyed haha. We're going to get them back ;)
Love you all!! Can't wait to see you on mothers day!!
Love,
sister smith xoxo
