Hello family!!!!
I can't believe you're in Mexico!!! I'm so jealous!!!! Can we please go when I get home. I want to travel the world too!! That made me laugh so hard about Grandma. She is seriously my favorite. She is a lot like Betty Cleveland. That's probably why I love Sister Cleveland so much is because she reminds me of grandma haha.
So this week has been crazy. We only had one day where we got to work in our area. On Tuesday we had interviews and so we had to sit there and go through each missionaries area book and planner and give them corrections. It was awful. I hate chewing other missionaries out. It's the worst :(
Wednesday we were on exchanges in Honey Creek. It was so much fun!!! I love those sisters. That's the best part about exchanges is that you get to know other sisters and make new friends. We met an old man named Mike. You know I love old people! He and I hit it off so well! He has cancer so we were able to testify of the plan of salvation and our savior. By the end of the conversation he patted my arm and said, "You are always welcome here." That made my whole week. He was so cute!!
Thursday we got to work in our area and then Friday we drove to Indy for MLC. It was so fun! We got to play kickball with President. When I was up to kick he told everyone to move in haha. He likes to tease me ;)
Saturday and Sunday were the best!!!! Saturday we watched general conference and then that night we taught our investigator Helen Pu. She is amazing! We were talking about the spirit world and baptism and she told us that she wants to be baptized because she hasn't before. We told her we could help her with that ;) Then we told her that we would like to set a date as a goal and she said, "Could I get baptized on my birthday??" We said YES!!!! So she is on date to be baptized on May 29th.
Conference was the best. Two of our investigators watched it and LOVED it. Nikki sang in conference!!! When I saw her in the choir I was watching it with our branch and I like screamed when I saw her haha. I was so excited! It was a tender mercy to see her. She is so beautiful!! My favorite talk was Elder Oaks about opposition. That's basically the definition of a mission. I also like Elder Hollands. I love how he said we get credit for trying. There are so many times on my mission where I've felt that I'm not the best missionary or I have so many flaws. But I love how he basically said God is proud of us as long as we are always trying to do better. I know that's true because I felt that in my own life.
I love you all!!! Party it up in Mexico! Will you send me a souvenir?
Love,
Sister Smith
